A cropped little top

It was a very busy weekend.  Cassie was here and we did some sewing.  She is really shaping up to be a good sewist/sewer. This weekend she decided she wanted to make a cropped top of a particular type.  It was designed from a top she saw in the stores with a wee bit of additional trim.

We based the design on the same peasant blouse design we used to make her tunic.

She lay out the pattern pieces and did the cutting with only a little technical help from me. The fabric she chose was a bit challenging but she did a really good job dealing with the slippery rayon polyester knit.

She did all the sewing but for sewing the casing on the white trim.  She did such a great job.

She wanted to model it stylishly.  She also did not want me to put a photo of her here so this is severely cropped to show only the top.

I am really pleased with the way it turned out.  Next time we will go for a  different style, a tank or a blouse without sleeves and a collar. Something in a fabric that is NOT a knit or slippery rayon so that she can do all the finishing herself.
