Another thing done.

Things are moving along better with my Christmas gifting things.

Because I completed another tea towel!

I love these wee birds but I have to tell you it bothers me that I cannot purchase the pattern.  They were online in a link that led to just the picture viewer.  I don't know how to search beyond that for source.  The only address was the viewer.  But if anybody knows where these come from please let me know so I can properly attribute and even purchase.  I am going to do some research about how to further search (mostly I will ask Keith).

I am very pleased with the way they turned our.  It isn't quite the same quality of work as when you stitch directly onto the linen, but since I have sorted out a better way to get there in the time allotted, well, it will do.

The stitching took most of the morning, but not all morning.  My worktable sort of looked like this.

When I knit, I sat at one end of my wee sofa.  When I stitched the other.  Coffee and kleenex (sorry about that) in the middle.

By the end of the morning, my hand was pretty tired, and I settled myself for some serious searching of things I have collected for set two of the tea towels.  Set two is going the pretty green edged fabric from this picture.

I was pretty careful in my choice of the green for these towels because some of the stitch work on these is going to be cross stitch and that requires a much more even fabric.

and I think the green will do quite nicely.  Cross stitch with a Ukrainian motif and Canada's maple leaf are going to be featured plus birdies.  The plan currently is to stitch the birdies as usual, and then work the motif on the wings and have the maple leaf and music flying up into the air.  Or something like that.  I think.  We'll see what happens.

I have to get these all done by this weekend because the weekend is probably when we will be working on the big stuff for Christmas and after that there is furniture and fixtures for the Batcave to be done.  The only thing I know for sure is that the kitchen will have round sinks.  We are recycling some containers from applesauce for those.  As for the rest, we will have to do some thinking.

I mean, do you know what kind of Bed Batman sleeps on?  Ironman?  Thor?
